I think the only voices on this board that are in favor of shotz's petty spat with the good Gov. are schotz's himself. all the posts that faovr schotz are very similiar. what does schotz just sit and post on this board all day long to protect his damaged rep.? " Hey Lorenzo - nice spin, but we all know that Mike Huckabee's freaky FOX Network-worshipping NeoNazi Republicans are hard at work polluting this page with all pro-Fuckabee/anti-Scholz propaganda. If you thought about it, wouldn't most musicians side with a musician and not some ex-tub-of-shit right wing fanatic? .

Gilmore's gold in first round
WORLD champion Stephanie Gilmore swooped into the new season as the pacesetter in round 1 of the Roxy Pro surfing tournament on the Gold Coast yesterday. The 20-year-old Snapper Rocks board rider posted 15.84 points, the day's top heat score, which included the best ride in good 1.2m waves at Duranbah Beach. Gilmore was the outstanding surfer of the 2008 world tour launch, beating 15-year-old Hawaiian prodigy and Roxy Trials winner Carissa Moore. She said she was relieved to finally don a contest shirt after a blur of commitments as world champion. "It's been a bit crazy with all the awards and activities and stuff, but it felt good to get back in the water," Gilmore said. "I guess I was a bit rusty at the beginning, but I started gaining more and more confidence throughout the heat and felt pretty good by the end." Local knowledge helped Gilmore pick the best waves and take command of the heat.

'Reginald Filbert' at Garage Theatre: Call it a night
The play, which was the grand prize winner in the Festival of New Works at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre in 2006, does offer some surprises. Reginald talks a good deal about existentialism, and Stephanie speaks fluent French. Angel is a fan of Kafka. Knowles seems to be making the point that no matter how educated people become, they may be ill-prepared for what life throws their way, stymied by what they cannot learn in school. The play also makes time for Reginald to drink from Moby's fishbowl no fewer than four times, while Ben dips in twice. Most of the 26 people at Sunday's matinee shuddered and groaned each time a character took a swig from the cloudy water. One also must shudder that director Frank Licato and actor Vincent Sagona (Reginald), both of whom have done exemplary work around the state, must be so starved for cash that they took these jobs.
Sampson's fate at IU ‘unresolved'
Late Thursday night, the Bloomington Herald-Times reported on its Web site that Sampson was out, citing an anonymous source and without going into detail. But university spokesperson Larry MacIntyre denied reports that a decision had been reached. University officials did meet Thursday to discuss Sampson's future. IU President Michael McRobbie on Feb. 15 gave athletic director Rick Greenspan one week to investigate alleged NCAA recruiting violations involving Sampson and his coaching staff. If he is fired, Sampson could go through a 10-day appeals process. He could be suspended. Another option would be to hold off on a decision until the NCAA hearings on the violation take place in June in Seattle. Greenspan's recommendation should come today.
